About Activity & Engagement scores

Considering both metrics helps you to understand the correlation of activity and engagement inside your community.

The higher the activity score is, the more new posts, comments, reactions and shares there are. At the same time, the higher the engagement score is, the more comments, reactions and shares a post generates in average.

If the activity score increases but the engagement score decreases, it means that the number of posts, reactions, comments and shares increases, but the average number of reactions, comments and shares generated by a post decreases. It is probably because there are more posts with few interactions or orphan posts (without any interaction on them). To increase the engagement score, you can encourage your community to be more implicated and interact more on the publications.

A community is an ecosystem. It is evolving. To measure, predict, improve performance, it is necessary to know the percentage of the evolution of KPIs of the latest period. See if there is a drastic variation than usual. Establish goals and make plans.

A community is an ecosystem. Interactions influence each other. A post leads to another post. A reaction generates another reaction. A comment inspires another comment. Interactions vary in different time periods. Some days several posts get more shares, some weeks certain comments get more replies. Compare the KPIs vertically between metrics, horizontally between time periods. Analyse in the context. Understand and enhance the dynamics of your community.
